Literary Study: A Stranger in the Woods

In our family we love books.   One of my favorite things to do in our 'homeschool' is to incorporate fantstic literature into our daily activities.  I'm sharing some photos from yesterday, when we built snowmen based on the beautiful story "A Stranger in the Woods".  In the story, two children make a snowman in the forest.  The animals are all curious, checking out the snowman to figure out who he is.  It's precious.  Eventually, the animals realize the snowman is a 'friendly' stranger since he's offering food in the carrots and seeds.
This is a heart-warming Literary and Nature study that allows for lots of time in nature and discussions about caring for our world and the creatures in it.  (We are feeding the winter birds with the seeds in the hats).

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.
